We Need Your Help!

PARKWAY HIGH SCHOOL BAND NEEDS OUR SUPPORT!! The Pride of Pantherland Band program trains over 200 Parkway High School students in musicianship, leadership, and personal excellence. Under the direction of Mr. Mark Minton, the award-winning program has two branches: marching band and concert band. The marching band provides weekly half-time entertainment for Parkway football fans and performs in four marching competitions per year. For concert band, students earn spots in one of two groups: the Wind Ensemble or the Symphonic Band. Concert bands have performed at various city, parish, and state events hosted by Governor John Bell Edwards, Major Lo Walker, and Barksdale Air Force Base.      

Recently, the Wind Ensemble was accepted to participate in the Music for All National Concert Band Festival. In March, the 67-member ensemble will join 25 invited groups in Indianapolis, Indiana. The festival notes "Ensembles that perform at the Festival are recognized as being among the finest in the nation." The overall cost of the trip, $75,000, has been equally divided among each child. As such, this is a heavy burden placed on each family. Parkway Band boosters are working diligently to offset the cost. Support from South Bossier Schools for this once in a lifetime opportunity sets the stage for this group of musicians and future generations of Parkway Band students.

  • Participate in $2 JEAN DAY Friday, January 26. Proceeds will go to PHS band.
  • Attend the PHS Band fundraising SPIRIT NIGHTS. See link with schedule below. 

The Parkway Band is extremely grateful for South Bossier school community support. With your help, they can reach their goal!

Bellaire Staff become Santa's Helpers

Bellaire teachers and staff participated in Community Involvement Program by donating their time to ring the bells for Salvation Army. Thank you to everyone in the community who support local people in need!

1st PLACE in "Pack the Pantry"!

Bellaire Elementary participated in the annual Bossier Schools Pack the Pantry canned food drive. Bellaire was awarded 1st place for collecting an average of about 14 pounds of canned food per student! We thank all the families in the community, as well as school staff, for supporting local families in need during this Holiday Season.
